Brief Description and Special Features:
This pleasant, attractive, interesting and friendly Venue is an extensive working Farm, rearing calves for Beef plus a very large flock of Sheep. The Breeds of Sheep (some 1500) are mainly Swaledales and Mules. The farm covers nearly 400 acres, which includes some Woodland, and is situated on the edge of the Forest of Bowland which is Lancashire Fell/Moorland country, ideal for wild camping. In addition it has grazing rights over the Fell which it adjoins. The area is generally quiet and peaceful. It is well away from tourist routes and will be ideal for getting away from the "madding crowd". It will be a great camping holiday destination.

Farm Shop: No. (Fresh eggs normally available at the farm).
Nearest Villages: Newton, Slaidburn, Dunsop Bridge and Whitewell; all short walks.
Nearest Shop/Post Office and Pub: At the Villages above (except Dunsop Bridge; no Pub!)
Nearest Towns: Clitheroe 9 miles, Lancaster 25 miles.
Nearest Station: Clitheroe.

Activities and places of interest:
The area is super for walking on the Fells and Mountain Biking (particularly in the famous Gisburn Park about 5 miles away). It is an interesting area to explore. For fishing and possible some wild water swimming the River Hodder is at Newton about 2 miles and the Stocks Reservoir is about 3 miles, where you can Fish and hire a boat. Golf, Swimming Pool and Tennis all at Clitheroe 9 miles away: Pony Trekking/Riding stables are about 15 miles away at Readwood, near Clitheroe.
